Dark Spots on Sun

Today early morning, I drove to a nearby place to look for some interesting subjects for photography. I was expecting some bird activity. It was still dark when I reached there and slowly the sun started rising above the horizon. The rising sun always beckons me to take few pictures. As I focussed my camera on it, I realized that today morning the sun was showing dark spots.

Later an internet data search showed that these dark spots are due to intense magnetic activity. These are also known as ‘Sunspots’ and are temporary phenomena on the photosphere of the sun that appear visibly as dark spots compared to surrounding regions.
