The Siberian Ruby throat
I have been trying to get to know this beauty for quite some time, but somehow my efforts were met with reluctance on part of this beautiful bird.
Recently on a short trip to Bharatpur I once again met this beauty, and this time it reluctantly agreed to get photographed.
The Siberian rubythroat (Luscinia calliope) is a small passerine bird now considered to be an Old World flycatcher of the family Muscicapidae.
It is a migratory insectivorous species breeding in mixed coniferous forest with undergrowth in Siberia. It nests near the ground. It winters in Thailand, India and Indonesia.
Is a small bird, which travels from Siberia every winters to be here in India.
Usually feed on small insects found in undergrowth of dense shrubs.
This one is a male rubythroat.
